If every time a soul dropped down from on high,
There was one less star in a galaxy nearby,
Then this world would be the brightest beacon,
Of energy and potential in the Universe of which we are speaking.
But Light hesitates to come where Darkness treads,
And a taste here for conquest, not peace seems inbred.
Try as it might to succeed, Darkness is always pierced by the Light,
And more streams of it are needed to sap Darkness’s might.
Every time a soul comes in with messages of Truth,
They are shunned, ignored or questioned for proof.
For such is the way people are trained and lead,
To demand answers from others, rather than using their own head.
The Light would shine so much brighter you see,
If all would open their minds and think differently.
But Darkness loves to leave grey shadows in the mind,
And most are too oblivious to see what lies behind.
For if all minds could see the beauty of what they are,
To change their perspective, Darkness would have to work so hard.
But as most are content to keep his shadows in their lives,
They will never truly allow the Light to shine in their eyes.
